About

Hi, my name is Bill, and I like to walk.

I mean, there are a lot of things that I like to do, but walking is probably the one most relevant to a website about hiking, right?  Seems that way to me.

I went to Clemson University.  I graduated in 2005 with a degree in Philosophy, which is why I’m currently mostly unemployed.  The last “real” job I had was doing web marketing for a big gardening company.  My goal for the near future is to hike too much, write, get my shit together, and figure out a way to not have a job that requires my presence in an office ever again.  If you can help me on any of these, please drop me a line or something.

I currently live in upstate South Carolina, so I currently do most of my hiking in the northwestern part of the state, Western NC, and Georgia.  That’s where most of the areas I review are, though I’ll try to write a review whenever I get out of the Southeast.

Oh, and as to the name of the site, it refers, obviously, to trek poles (which I use: Black Diamonds, specifically).  It also refers to the fact that I am of Polish ancestry, and, well, I hike.  Hiking Pole.

The Logo was designed by Wes Brooks.  In case you don’t get it, that’s the Polish Flag, modified.  Dummy.
